WHY YEAALOR?

Alot of people wonder why we use the word yEAAlor or the color yellow as our graduation concept,

so here is what we have to say about it.

"Yeaalor!" - the phrase that any true blue Penangite can't live without.

While we were taught all our lives by our English teachers that there is no such suffix as "-lor" or "-lah", we cannot deny that this is our culture, and it is special in our own way. Equator Academy of Arts has long been regarded as the top institution for art and design in Penang, and so it is only appropriate that the theme for this graduation showcase proudly reflects the institution's roots and status in Penang.

"Yeaalor!" is not only a form of exclaimation, but it can also be interpreted as "Yellow" with a twist of local lingo, which happens to be theme colour of the graduation showcase.

Everybody has definitely got a shade of yellow in their lives. What other colour can represent the bright and cheerful sunshine other than yellow? From lemons to bananas, The Simpsons to Spongebob Squarepants, you cannot deny that we all have a little yellow in all of us. On the other hand, the colour yellow is often associated with joy and energy, happiness, brightness and even glory - all the attributes that make the graduates from EAA stand out among the rest.
